김명운 (조선민주주의인민공화국)

1959년 강원도 생. 1981년 평양미술대학 졸업. 유화창작가이며 김정일상계관인, 인민예술가.

창작생활 기간 수많은 인물주제화와 풍경화들을 창작하여 국가미술전람회와 중국, 러시아, 독일 오스트랄리아 등 국제 전람회에 출품하였으며 20여점의 국가소장품과 상장, 금메달 8개, 동메달 7개를 받은 재능있는 화가이다.

활달한 필치로 대자연을 그리기를 좋아하며 색조는 따뜻하며 회색조로 화면을 통일시켜 공간색을 잘 내여 작품의 무게와 깊이, 힘있는것으로 조형성이 강한것으로 특기로 알려져있다. 또한 예리한 관찰력과 화면처리를 크게 보는 안목이 강하다.

기법은 전형적인 불투명기법이다. 대표작으로는 <혁명의 성산 백두산>, <강원땅의 새력사>, <대연지송에서 바라본 백두산>, <장군봉>, <백두밀림>, <6월의 백두산>, <10월의 백두산>, <독도는 우리의 땅> 등을 들수 있다.

KIM Myong Un (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)

Born in Gangwon Province, 1960. Graduated from the Pyongyang Fine Arts University in 1981. People’s Artist.

An oil painter, Kim is a laureate of Kim Jong Il Prize. He painted a number of the works themed with the characters and landscapes and presented them to the national fine arts exhibitions and other international exhibitions held in China, Russia, Germany, Australia and etc.

He is also a talented artist who kept his 20 Works under the National Possession together with the relevant letters of prize and won 8 gold and 7 bronze medals. He likes to use a vigorous brush to paint a grandiose nature. His tone of color is warm-hearted and the painting is combined with the grey-like color, giving the unique background, and thus his works are characterized and well-known with profound weightiness and depth, telling touch and strong formative representation.

He has also a keen eye on the objects and frames up the picture in a big way. His technique is a typical impasto one. His highly praised Works are Mt. Paekdu – The Sacred Mountain of Revolution, New History of Kangwon Area, Mt. Paekdu Viewed from Taeyonjigong, Peak Janggun, Paekdu Forest, Mt. Paekdu Both in June and October, and Islet Dokdo is Ours.
